Although the game is not contextualized on July 4, the first-person shooter of Irrational Games has some parallelism with American independence. Without going any further, one of the toughest enemies we find in the game is the Motorized Patriot, who wears nothing more and nothing less than a ceramic mask with the face of George Washington. And as if it were little patriotism, behind him also carries the flag of the United States. Come on, that this will be one of those who go out to celebrate on July 4 in style.

In addition, the context in which the main story unfolds and the various circumstances that occur in it, have a certain parallelism with American independence. We cannot tell you more to not let spoilers of the game. If you want to know more about this game, go through our analysis of Bioshock Infinite.

It is a first-person shooter that reminds us that the struggle for American independence can be repeated in the future. We are part of the resistance movement that fights the Korean army, unified by Kim Jong-un, which has invaded the United States.

Our protagonist, Robert Jacobs is a former Navy pilot who manages to escape the invading forces when he is taken to a re-education camp in Alaska, from that moment he will join the resistance to expel the invader. The guerrilla war will be the strategy used to pulverize the invaders and to celebrate a new 4th of July.

The title was released in March 2011 and its motto was “Home is where the war is”. The story is by John Milius, co-screenwriter of Apocalypse Now. Homefront was developed by Kaos Studios and published by THQ for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Assassin’s Creed III

The third part of the Assassin’s Creed saga moves us to 1777 to put us in the shoes of Connor, a young Native American who participates in the War of Independence. Connor is the fruit of a relationship between a settler and an Indian is raised by the Mohawk tribe and, as a result, feels more American than anyone. So much so that he does not hesitate to tap into the typical weapons of the tribes (tomahawk axes, knives, and bows) to defend their peers at the outbreak of war and achieve the freedom of their people with the desired independence and the expulsion of the British.

We also enjoyed a chapter in the form of a DLC entitled ” The Tyranny of King Washington ” in which the American president (as indicated by the DLC) has become a real tyrant, going crazy to unsuspected limits and cruelly controlling the population treating it as slaves. In reality, this motive was one of the factors that led to the rise of the independent British colonies, which defended a liberal and democratic political system, where equality and freedom were basic elements.
